All Aboard
Objective: to keep the main thing the main thing and not get
sidetracked
Equipment: handkerchief, or a face towel folded to the size of a
handkerchief
Space: flat piece of ground
Numbers:
10-12 on a team
The
Game:
Players
are told that the main thing is to put one foot on the towel while the
other one is on the grass. If there isn’t room, a player may put her foot
on another girl’s foot that’s already on the towel. Either way, the
players may hold on to each other to accomplish this task. Once everyone
has their feet on the towel, they are told to pick the other foot up off
the ground. They must remain completely on the towel, balanced on one foot
for 3 full seconds, holding on to their teammates during the process. The
key is that one balanced foot cannot be touching the ground around the
towel and the other foot, the free foot, must be suspended in the air.
They must keep trying this task until they succeed.
Lesson:
Players
will learn that they must focus on the task at hand and not let anything
distract them. They must also communicate with each other to accomplish
the goal.
