The following is the information for the 2005 middle school soccer tournament. The format has changed to a pool group tournament to guarantee each team at least 2 games. Group winners will advance to the semi final round, winner moving on to the championship game. As discussed at the initial scheduling meeting it would be required to spread the tournament out over several play dates in order to secure referees. The following are the respective play dates:

Saturday March 5th – Boys Pool play Round
Saturday March 12th – Girls Pool Play Round
Thursday March 31st – Semi-Finals
Saturday April 2nd – Championship Match

Tournament Rules:

Teams will play round robin group matches in the 1st round. The winners of each match will be awarded 3 points. 1 point will be awarded for a tie. The high point winner from each group will advance to the semi-finals. In the event of a tie for group winner the following tie-breaker format will be used:

1. Head to Head
2. Net goal difference
3. Fewest goals allowed
4. Penalty Kicks

There will be no over time played in pool matches. Pool matches will play 2 x 30 min. halves, with a 10 min. half time break. Each team will be responsible to provide 1 ball handler for each match. The home team will be the 1st team listed on the schedule and will wear white or light color, the visiting team will wear dark. The home team will also provide game balls.

For semi-final and championship matches teams will play 2x 35. min halves and 2x 5 min. golden goal over time periods if needed. It the score is still tied after the two over time periods, the winner will be determined by kicks from the mark.

Game matches will be played at Randolph Drake and Garth road fields. An entry fee will be charged, but will be valid for the entire day’s matches.
