2005 Female Player of the Year
Brooke Daron - Athens High School

Savannah Burch, Priceville, Sr.
- Burch finished the season with seven shutouts while helping lead the Lady Bulldogs to a second straight Class 1A-4A, Section 5 runner-up finish. She allowed 36 goals this season.
Ellie Cole, Decatur, So.
- The leader of the Lady Red Raiders’ defense, Cole helped her team record eight shutouts in its 12 wins this year. Decatur head coach Mike Pline said Cole has a knack for winning head balls. She was voted the team’s best defender.
Meredith Kirk, Austin, Jr.
- Kirk finished her third year on Austin’s varsity soccer team by scoring a team-leading 18 goals. She also contributed 12 assists. She has 31 career goals and has made all-area the past two seasons.
Madison Lipsey, Hartselle, Sr.
- Lipsey has played on the Harstelle varsity for four years now, three of which she started for the Lady Tigers. She scored 22 goals to lead the team this season.
Rachael Reed, Priceville, Sr.
- Reed was a member of the Morgan County all-tournament team. She led Priceville in 2004 with 11 goals and was second on the team this year with nine. Reed’s goals helped Priceville make it to the Class 1A-4A state playoffs.
Rachel Roberts, Austin, Sr.
- Roberts is the all-time leading goal scorer in Austin history with 34 goals, including 18 this season. She also had six assists. As a junior, she was honorable mention all-state as well as honorable mention all-area.
Melonie Stewart, Athens, Sr.
- Stewart will play at Itawamba Community College beginning this fall. She played a key role in helping lead the Lady Golden Eagles to the Class 5A state playoffs. Stewart scored 31 goals and had 24 assists this past season.
Heather Stowe, East Limestone, Sr.
- Stowe played in the 2004 North-South all-star game and was first-team all-area last season. Stowe signed with the University of North Alabama to play soccer. Coach Brad Carwile said Stowe is a player who gets overlooked often.
Elizabeth Tucker, Decatur, Jr.
- Tucker, who typically plays forward, was moved to fullback this season to help the team. She responded by contributing to Decatur recording eight shutouts this year. She scored two goals from her defensive position and was voted a captain by her teammates. She will play in this year’s North-South All-star game.
Mary Kyle Walker, Decatur, Jr.
- Walker landed on the Morgan County tournament most valuable player. She also received team MVP honors. She scored the winning goal in the Morgan County tournament. She scored 13 goals from her position as a midfielder and was a team captain. Walker was nominated to the North-South all-star team.
