NASL Schedule for Fall 2004
Updated Monday, March 26, 2007

Fall 2004 Game Schedules

  • Link to AYSA State Game Schedule
  • Link to NASL Game Schedule UPDATED 8-30-2004
  • Link to Decatur Game Schedule
  • Link to D2 Southern League Schedule

Note that the team numbers on the NASL schedule correspond to the team numbers on the Teams Page here.

    Managers and coaches,
Please go through the NASL schedule and check for errors. Times and fields are not set so don't send them out to your teams. Refer to games by their game number. The date to
add games and make changes has been moved to August 31. I will be out of town for a week so I felt I needed to extend the static date to accommodate everyone.
Please note that there will be no State games listed on the NASL schedule. Those will be found on the AYSA website. When coordinating practices around games you will need to check both schedules. If Rec, Kiwanis or Stoner are not being used for games please split the field; HSC one half Kicks the other half. Kiwanis is not available on Wednesday nights. Please feel free to add games or change them. If you have any questions just ask.
I will thank you ahead of time for your patience and I am looking forward to working with all of you.

In Case of Bad Weather

The home team is responsible for contacting your field manager to make sure your field is open and games will be played. Make sure you check, in ample, time to notify the opposing team (take in to consideration travel time). If you do not know who is your field coordinator, you will need to contact someone in your club. Here is a list of Field Coordinators.  I have attached a field coordinators list, but it might not have yours listed. If your field is closed due to weather, you will need to contact your opponent immediately of the cancellation of games. In the event your game is cancelled you will need to get with your opponent and choose a make up date and notify Lynn Bertovic (on state games) immediately
.

NASL Club Pass System - New for 2004

Beginning this Spring 2004 the NASL has approved and instituted a "CLUB PASS" system which will allow players to move freely among the teams in their club in their NASL (Division III) games.  A club pass system would allow a player to train with and play local and friendly matches with other teams within her/his own club as long as the player was age appropriate. Any registered player in the state is eligible to use this system if they are a member of a club that has additional teams they could train/play with. The club pass system would NOT apply to tournaments, would NOT apply to State League matches (either Division I or Division II) and would NOT apply to any of the state AYSA sponsored tournaments (Governor's Cup, Division II, Division I).

To employ the club pass system the coaches within a club would come to agreement on what players were going to temporally shift to another team within the club for a match, and the player’s ASA pass would be transferred to the gaining team for the match. At check in the referees would simply insure that all players are a member of that club and that no child is playing with a team younger than they are allowed to be on.

At the end of the match the player’s pass would be returned to her/his assigned team.

The system provides an excellent way to give some players additional training/playing opportunities to further their development without subjecting them to an excessively competitive environment and without creating an administrative burden. It also allows clubs to avoid canceling or rescheduling matches when injuries/conflicts/etc reduce the roster of available players. This would be a club managed system, not requiring the involvement of the state association (AYSA, ASA).

Fall 2004 Game Scheduling

Games may be added to the schedule, before _____ by the following process:

  • Notify me using team numbers the teams that will be playing.
  • Include the game date. (you'd be surprised)
  • You may request a time, however field or referee restrictions may require
    some adjustment.
  • I prefer e-mail notification of additions.

Games may be canceled from the schedule by the following process:

  • Games may not be canceled by e-mail.
  • A voice phone call to Christia at home or cellular phone, in that order,
notifying me of the game cancellation.
  • A message on my voice mail is not considered notification.
  • This notification must be 24 hours or more prior to play date and time.
  • You will be issued a game specific cancellation number. The cancellation number should be maintained for your records.

Additional Notes:

  • Any game scheduled is considered a valid game and both teams will be held responsible for no-show fees unless you have a cancellation number that can only be issued by me (there may be an alternate designated by the Web under cancellation directions.) Please contact me if you have any question regarding this information.
  • Please check your team number against the dates that you have and notify me of any changes.
    Thanks.

Cullman and Florence Area Games:

  • Cullman, Florence, Athens game times are listed on NASL schedule for
informational purposes only. It would be wise to confirm with teams in
    these areas regarding game times.

Practice Fields:

  • NASL does schedule individual practice fields for teams. The city has
given us that authority. In the past it has been first come, first serve.
That has been the position regarding city fields. There are never enough
for the fall season with all of the city's recreational leagues, NASL
teams and adult teams. However in Fall 2003 an announced meeting was held for the purpose of scheduling practice times for the individual teams. Field availability for practices for Spring 2004 will be the same as it was in the fall. If you have any questions regarding fields for practices
    contact
Christia Woodford, NASL Scheduler, 256-881-5019 or 256-651-4043 Msbombtec@knology.net

Coaching Policy for Coaches of U9, U10 and U11 teams:

Coaches of U9 and U10 teams - The NASL will be following a NO TOLERANCE Policy with regard to coaches who abuse referees in U9 and U10 games. The final wording of the policy is being worked on, but the heart of the policy is that these referees are new to the game and prone to make mistakes (just as coaches are).
Any abuse of the referees resulting in the filing of a game report against a coach will result in the coach being immediately suspended pending an investigation by the league. It is important that we remember the age and experience of these refs and the large number of youth referees who do not return to refereeing because of abuse by coaches. Consider this your only warning to be on your best behavior!

Who to Contact Concerning Field Lighting

The fields will only be lit for games that have been approved by the City of Huntsville through the NASL Scheduler. When games are scheduled, the Security Guard Office 512-8888 is responsible for turning on the lights at Rec and the two big Airport fields. For emergencies call 883-3710.

Weather

What to do in case you think inclement weather will cause your game to be cancelled.

Over the years, games have seldom been cancelled so you normally show up and expect to play - even in rain. However we have had some really nasty weather lately so in case you think the game might be cancelled you can contact Christia Woodford, NASL Scheduler, 256-881-5019 or 256-651-4043
Msbombtec@knology.net. Whenever Christia (field scheduler) or Mike (referee assignor) let me know that fields are closed I send out a notice to the NASL e-mail list. You should sign up for the NASL e-mail list on the website at http://www.nasl.com/Email.htm
