UEFA Champions League
ESPN International holds exclusive US and Canadian TV distribution rights in
all languages, to the UEFA Champions League, from Match Day 1 through the
Final, through the 2005-2006 season via an agreement with Switzerland-based
sports marketing agency TEAM AG.
In the US, UEFA has required ESPN International to offer a minimum of 13
matches each season (1 match each on match days 1-6, 2 round of 16 matches,
2 quarterfinal matches, 2 semifinal matches, and the final) on a
non-pay-per-view channel that reaches a minimum number of households. ESPN
International will meet this contractual requirement by airing the 13
matches on ESPN2.
ESPN International has sublicensed English-language US TV rights to ALL UEFA
Champions League matches not aired on ESPN2 (including 6 quarterfinal
matches and 2 semifinal matches) to Setanta Sport for broadcast on the
Setanta Channel.
ESPN Deportes will air 77 matches each season (in Spanish): 8 matches each
on match days 1-6, all 16 round of 16 matches, all 8 quarterfinal matches,
all 4 semifinal matches, and the final.
In Canada, TSN/RDS will offer 25 matches each season (2 matches on match
days 1-6, 4 round of 16 matches, 4 quarterfinal matches, all 4 semifinal
matches, and the final), with TLN (TeleLatino Network) airing additional
matches involving Italian, Spanish, or Portuguese teams that are not aired
by TSN/RDS.
The US and Canadian TV rights to each qualifying round match is sold
individually by the market agency designated by the home team of each
match. Agencies involved include Octagon CSI (most English teams except
Newcastle United),
Media Pro (most Spanish teams),
and SportFive (over 80% of the teams).

College Soccer
ESPN holds exclusive US TV rights to the NCAA Division 1 men's and women's
tournaments through 2012.
ESPN2 will air the NCAA Division I men's and women's finals live, with the
semifinals to air tape-delayed on ESPN2 (and possibly LIVE on ESPNU, ESPN's
new digital cable/satellite network devoted exclusively to college sports.)
Various conference tournaments will air on either CSTV or the regional
sports networks, with telecasts on the regional sports networks simulcast on
FOX College Sports (FOX Cable's 3 digital cable networks devoted to college
sports).
CSTV and the regional sports networks will have selected regular season
matches, with some telecasts on the regional sports networks simulcast on
FOX College Sports.
